Bluebell Wood
It is highly probable that the wood hadn't been visited by people for at least 15 years based on its history and appearance. It was totally overgrown, particularly by the hawthorn trees and brambles, so any curious visitor was likely to get severely scratched.

Work was first started on clearing a path around the wood and thinning out the trees during Easter 1999. This continued in the Summer of 1999. Overall it took about four weeks. A few trees and rhododendrom bushes were planted. Nothing more happened until December 2001. Left over stone from the cottage was used to create two stone wall entrances, approximately seven feet high. I got my inspiration from the entrance of a park near the Eiffel Tower, in Paris.

In the Summer of 2003, much of the existing path was overgrown and another period of clearing took place. This time a weed control covering was placed over the path, with stones acting as borders. Chip bark covered the matting to a depth of about four inches.
