Tommy Cuddy
It
is with great sadness that we report the death of our neighbour and
friend Tommy Cuddy. Tommy was born on the 4th April 1917.
He spent his entire life farming and still treasured the receipt
of his first tractor. He married Nancy in 1950 and they
eventually had 12 children (five sons and seven daughters). He
read the Independent every day and had a firm grasp on every day events
and politics. He particularly enjoyed the racing section where he
indulged his motto "Win Only". No place bets for Tommy! He
played 25 card Whist with his friends and regularly won events. I
particularly remember him as being one of the first neighbours to drive
into our yard in his tractor and welcome us into the district. He
suffered ill health during the last seven years and spent three days a
week on a dialysis machine. He died peacefully at home, on
the 28th December, surrounded by his family.
