Squealor

Since Lofty died in the Spring we thought about replacing him with another cat, to give Jessie some company.  In November, a friend of Sorcha gave her a female kittern, from a litter that had been born several months previous.  The name came easily as everything she did (her wants, complaints, play and even eating) involved a noisy outcome that was best described as squealing.   She stayed in the house for about a month and then she was introduced to the outside world.  Initially, during the day for a few hours and then finally overnight.  She is now an "outside cat" like all our other cats, with a daily invitation of an hour in the evenings - if she is good.

Jasmine took to her straight away and both played with and mothered her.  Jessie was initially very wary of her, then got bugged by her, as Squealer would always give her a nudge with her paw as she passed by, or if she was sleeping.  However, since Squealer is now permanently outside they seem to get on and squealer follows her around and mostly leaves her alone even when she is sleeping.
