Saracen
During Easter I came across an
advertisement for a Mirage 27 yacht at a bargain price. It was
situated on the Island of Lefkas, in the Ionian Sea, Greece.
After emailing and phoning the broker, I flew to Athens and then
took a six hour coach journey to Lefkas (Lefkada) - known by two
names! I took a further coach journey (half-an-hour) to a small
town named Nidri, where I stayed in a cheap apartment for several days.
The next day I visited the boat which was named Saracen. It appeared in good condition. The boat layout consists of a main cabin, which can sleep up to
three people, a fore cabin, which can sleep two people and a toilet
compartment and wardrobe area. It is powered by a Yanmar inboard
engine. After a little more haggling, it was provisionally mine dependent upon a survey report.
