The
journey
of this web site really starts, on the 11th July 1989.
That was when Imelda and I met, in a crowded
bar, in London. We were immediately attracted to
each other. I quickly realised that she
had a wicked sense of
humour, as I could hear an accent, over the noise of the
bar,
which I thought was Scottish.
So
I made a remark about her Scottish
accent. She humoured me by confirming she was Scottish,
where upon we spent the next hour discussing the merits of Scotland!
She is of course, Irish.
We became inseparable
and she was quickly introduced to my family. We arranged a
visit in October to meet her family
in Ireland - my
first visit to Ireland. The following Spring we got
engaged. In August we enjoyed a great
holiday in America
(Orlando, St. Petersburg, Everglades
and a short cruise to the Bahamas).
Two
years, after we met, we married in
Chatham
Registrar Office, on the 17th August 1991 (her 31st
birthday). We had an afternoon reception on the Inner
Dowsing Lightship and a bar-b-que evening meal at our house in
Rochester,
England. We spent
our honeymoon in Ireland. At
this time Imelda started working as a
Primary School Teacher
(she is a qualified Secondary School Teacher) and I worked as a
Computer Lecturer in a
North London College.
