We drove around
the "Ring of Kerry" and camped overnight. The following day
we continued our tour and stayed the night at Killkenny, where we
enjoyed the "craic" at night. The next day we drove to
Connemara and camped a few miles from Salthill, near Galway,
overlooking Galway Bay.
The
following day we took ourselves into the rugged landscape of Connemara. That evening we made our way to John Joe
and Annie's house in Keelogues, where a surprise party
was awaiting our arrival. Many of Imelda's relatives who
couldn't attend the wedding were there.
After a "feed" and a few drinks, the playing of musical instruments
began a session of Irish dancing (before the days of Riverdance) and
singing. Eventually, in the early hours the relatives
made their way home. The following day we left for England to
begin the rest of our lives, but that's another story.
