Greek Holiday - Continued
After
five days we decided to decided to have a day off and take a boat trip
around the local Islands. The boat initially was going to take us
to Port Katsiki beach,
considered one of the best in the world. Unfortunately it didn't
take us to the exact location and went to the next beach on the coast,
which was beautiful but more shingle than sand.
Next we went to the Port of Fiskardo, on the Island of Kefalonia, where we ate lunch
overlooking the harbour. Next we were taken to the Port of Vathi, on the Island of
Ithaka and enjoyed an ice cream.

Afterwards,
we were taken to the cave of Papanikolis, where a submarine was
said to have been hidden from the Germans in world war two.
However, looking
at the shallowness of the cave I think the submarine must have been
made of polystyrene. Finally, we stopped to swim next to Skorpios
Island - home of the late Aristotle Onassis. The next day I
picked up a bargain
inflatable and rowed it back from Nidri to our boatyard - a distance of
around a mile.
