2 - Part 1
As Derek left to catch his flight, Imelda, Sorcha and Caitlin
(Sorcha's friend) entered the arrival hall. We quickly caught the
metro back to the Hotel Elite and afterwards made our way to a
restaurant, near the Acropolis. The next morning we caught the
11.00am coach to Lefkada Island and around 5.00pm caught the local bus
to Nidri.
The following day we lazed around the hotel pool and in
the evening made our way to Hotel George, where we met my mother,
Beverley and Ffion, who had just arrived for a fortnight's holiday. The next day was spent around the hotel pools and eating at
the taverna in the evening. The following day we caught the Makedonia Palace - a cruise ferry,
in order to visit the local sights.
Our first destination was a visit to a sandy beach, near
Katsiki beach - considered the best beach
in the mediterranean. Next the ferry headed for Fiskardo, on the
Island of Kefalonia, where we had
some cool drinks and lunch. After that we travelled to the Island
of Ithaka and stopped for ice creams and drinks.
