Goats
Two goat kids were purchased in June. They
were approximately three months old. The
kid with the light brown strip along its back was named Milly and the one with
the dark brown strip was called Molly.
They were initially frightened as they didn't appeared to have
been handled much. However, over the course
of a few weeks they became much friendlier and would come over to get stroked
if anyone entered their pen. They are very good natured animals and
only become subborn if anyone tries to lead them over a patch of mud. They hate mud! They are choosy about what they eat,
preferring to eat bramble/tree leaves before they
would graze on good quality grass. However, they often munch
on ragwort without ill effects, even though
ragwort would make a horse seriously ill or
kill it. They often play chase games
with Sorcha in the goat pen, after a hard day's grazing. Wherever
she runs to, they will follow.
