Floods

On November 9^th it started to rain and continued raining every day until the 17^th December. Some days it came down as torrential downpours for many hours and many days it was accompanied by high winds. The pictures below show the “stream” flowing down the road beside our property and gathering into large puddles, as it couldn’t escape into the ditches, leading to the River Suck, fast enough.

There are further pictures showing our sluice gates being over powered by the large volume of water and extending into the nearby fields. Finally, there are a few pictures showing the extent of the high winds we experienced.   We had a brief respite over the next ten days with ocassional rain.  However, since the 28th December the strong winds (90mph) and rain continued on a daily basis until the 22nd January.
