Cottage Garden
- Continued
During
2005, a green beech hedge
was added, following the contours of the duck fencing and wind resistant
netting was fixed to the fencing allowing some camouflage against foxes,
as well as offering some protection against the
wind. The roof and window
was added to the duck house. The outside of the duck house was plastered and painted,
The other bridge connecting the two paths,
either side of the stream was completed. The natural spring
constantly keeps the stream running and the
pond filled. This year a variety of pond plants
were added, but they didn't do as well
as those that were provided by nature. During the hot months of Summer, Bind weed becomes a problem
and I have to put on my waders and
pull it out.
Two gunnera
plants were added near the output stream. Also more
bulbs of plants were added to the flowering
beds. Around the fallen tree trunk,
a variety of trees and rose bushes were planted to give a private rose garden.
