Cats

There has been comings, goings and surprises with our cats during the past six months.  Our lovely cat Jessie fell ill during late October.  We took her to the vet and she seem to completely recover, unfortunately a week later she disappeared and has not been seen since.  She will be remembered as being very bright, fastidiously clean and very nervous of strangers.  Squealer has grown into a large cat and is not the brightest star in the sky!  When she was given to us we were told that she was a female, however a month ago we realised that "she" was in fact a "he".  He is presently banned from the house due to his recent "spraying" and we will shortly be going to the vet to rectify that situation.  He finds it hard to believe that we dont want him as he is an affectionate cat and we usually let him visit us at night, particularly if the weather is unkind.

In January we obtained another kitten and named her Tilley.  However, again we were told that Tilley was a female kitten, but closer inspection reveals that Tilley is a Tom.  Tilley is staying in my mother's cottage but has been weaned to stay outside most of the day and recently this has been extended to night-time as well.  He is a lovely cat, both lively and friendly.  Squealer and Tilley appear to get on and they are often seen playing together.  Jasmine (dog) loves playing with Tilley and they are always fighting playfully with each other.  If anything Jasmine sometimes comes off worse as a claw accidently catches her from time to time.
