Cattigans is our local
pub. This is a typical Irish pub of the area with tv, games room and
areas for drinking. All Irish pubs, by law, are now no smoking establishments.
Imelda and I love the fact that we no longer have sore throats, or our clothes
smell of cigarettes, at the end of an evening in a pub - yes, we are non-smokers.
Irish pubs have licensing hours, but they tend to be flexible! Children
can stay in pubs until 9.00pm, in the Winter and longer in the Summer. The
Irish may have a reputation for drinking, but I have never come across any
bother with Irish drinkers! They tend to be a friendly bunch! Even
when England beat them at Rugby!
