Long Lost Relatives
My brother Colin started an investigation
into our family tree many years ago, mostly using the internet. While
on a recent search he came across the name Royston Floyd in someone else's
family tree. This Royston had married the sister (Sara) within this
person's family tree and now lived in South Africa. He wondered if
our Uncle Roy whom we haven't seen or heard of, for over forty years and went
to South Africa, was the same person. So he made enquiries and discovered
that this Royston Floyd, with daughters Penny and Jenny was infact our long
lost uncle.
A flurry of emails was exchanged
providing some information on our uncle, cousins and ourselves. Hopefully,
we can physically get together (Ireland or South Africa) in the future.
My last memories of Penny (still very vivid
for some reason) was as a nine year old girl in pigtails, staying in our
house at Eastern Avenue, Peterborough, for several weeks, shortly before they
left for South Africa.
