Welcome to Cherry Tree Farm
This
site is about the continuing renovation of Cherry Tree Farm
and the people and animals who live there. Cherry
Tree Farm is situated in Southern Ireland. The farm was
bought in 1998 by Brent, Imelda (Melly) and Sorcha Floyd (now aged
18). It consisted of five stone buildings (Cherry Tree
Cottage, Primrose Cottage, Hen House, Combined Tool Shed and Stables
and a Greenhouse), in various states of decomposition, situated on 10
Irish acres of meadows, wooded areas and a bog land lake. The
original, main cottage (Cherry Tree Cottage) had basic stone walls, a
galvanized roof, plus a "historical" link to electricity.
There were no water or sewage facilities. The
remaining buildings were in worse, dilapidated states, which solicited
comments ranging from "You can not be serious" (use John McEinroe's
voice to obtain the best effect) to "I've got a friend who owns a
bulldozer". During this time many friends and family worried
about our mental states, but eventually we convinced ourselves that it
had "potential". Our dream is to change it to a
self-sufficient, small farm environment, where we can enjoy nature,
animals and the warm Irish hospitality for the remainder of our
days.

Changes to Website!
Over the coming months the website will undergo changes to it's format and content. Many images will be re-submitted to provide sharper images. Latest News is now renamed the Archives, however a monthly blog (covering the year) will be available for visitors to read what is happening in our daily lives.
